Adding stuff to the side bar

My brain is shutting down, so it's bed time VERY soon. Just a quick question though - I've noticed many bloggers have lists of the blogs they frequent along the sidebar. How do you do that?? Do you have to be a genius HTML coder?? I'd also like to place a link to my other blogs along the sidebar... the instructions in the help menu are very confusing... tried it, messed up, obviously I'm not an HTML god. Anyone have a copy of "Sidebarring For Dummies"?

well, first click on the change settings spot of your blog...

then hit the template tab

this will land you on a page with a box in the middle... this is where all the blog info is...

if you scroll down about 2/3 or 3/4 of the way, you'll see a ton of lettering, but look for the part that says MainOrArchivePage
h2 class="sidebar-title"Links/h2
ul
lia href="http://news.google.com/"Google News/a/li

this is where on your blog you have links... Google news...

basically, in my very limited comp-speak, you just add to it, using the 'phrases' that are there...

wish I could be of more help... but I found it a matter of just copying their examples, and giving it a go. then you hit the 'save template changes' button, which brings a page that says 'settings were saved successfully'... hit the button to republish the blog, and see how it looks...

trial and error, but eventually you can get it how you like it...

good luck! looking forward to seeing what you do...

btw... I had to remove all the little less than and greater than symbols... didn't want to publish my comment with them in it, but hopefully this will give you an idea...

good luck!!!

Looks like you figured it out -- and in alphabetical order, no less! I just add them in the order it occurs to me to do so... in other words, without rhyme or reason!

You have become a blogger extraordinaire!

yes it looks good. I have to update mine soon. Need to make some more categories though. You have to be added on there. hehe

I wish Ipodmama was around when I was trying to figure it out!

You can get all sorts of things to go in the sidebar, clocks, pets, maps and weather forecasts!

Hiya Turtle Guy, just flew in from Granny's :>)
